Dongbei Special Steel Group Co., Ltd. (DBSS) is situated in a beautiful coastal city, Dalian in Liaoning Province. With convenient water and land transportation, DBSS has been a window to the world in northeast China.
Originated as Dalian Steel Plant, DBSS is the first company manufacturing high-speed tool steel, bright steel, Al-Cr alloy, hard alloy steel, as well as the first production base for precision alloy. There have always been supplying special steel products for the localization of national automobile industry, development of high-speed railway and wind power, production of precision parts, etc.
DBSS has a long history, dating back to 1905. Through tireless efforts of several generations, DBSS has developed into a backbone company focusing on special steel in China. Since the relocation and renovation for environmental protection in 2011, DBSS has come into a leap development. As eleven special steel production lines completed, DBSS shows excellent annual production capacity of 1.4 million tons iron, 2.6 million tons special steel, 2.3 million tons finished products. Since 10th October, 2017, Jiangsu Shagang Group has acquired a controlling stake in DBSS, leading DBSS into another new journey. With a significant and decisive adjustment of product mix, DBSS is oriented to “Combination of Special Steel and Quality Steel”. As upgrading and developing, DBSS provides better products and services for new and old customers with stable quality and reasonable costs. At present, over 5,600 staffs are employed by DBSS.
DBSS has abundant strengths in product research and development. It has over 630 professionals, 84 of which enjoy senior technical titles or above, and more than 100 individuals with doctoral or master’s degrees. In order to enhance the technical innovation, DBSS has established long-term stable collaborations with Central Iron & Steel Research Institute (CISRI), Institute of Metal Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IMR, CAS), Northeastern University (NEU), University of Science and Technology Beijing (USTB), Dalian University of Technology (DUT), University of Science and Technology Liaoning (USTL) and other research institutes and well-known universities, taking full advantage of the technology and talent.
Sales areas of our products are all over the world. Domestically, products are sold to more than 30 provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions. Internationally, they are exported to over 30 countries and regions, including Europe, America, Asia, export product share being approximately 17%. Bearing steel and automobile steel products have been certified by American Timken, Germany Schaeffler, JTEKT, ThyssenKrupp, Germany Bosch, Delphi, Cummins, Hyundai Corporation, Peugeot Citroen, the Volkswagen Corporation and other world-renowned corporations, as well as established long-term partnerships with them. Besides, DBSS has been certified by China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation for supply qualification, Ministry of Railways and Japan JRS for bearing steel products, and five classification societies including CCS, DNVGL, LR, ABS and NK for ships steel. Meanwhile, DBSS has built stable trade relations with international companies, such as IMS Group, Precision Metal Services, INTERFER, Turkish OZ, STEMCOR, ODYSSEY. The D2 series cold work die steel and high precision peeling automobile steel of DBSS have been awarded the Golden Cup Prize, and have a high market share at home and abroad. Sulfur-containing austenitic stainless steel has been honored with the excellent products title of metallurgical industry many times, receiving positive reviews from the market.
